I dont know if im allowed to help a student so feel free to tell me to stop

but (A) states "Publishers often select a manuscript on the basis of whether they think that the published book will receive favorable reviews by book reviewers." And basically what that says is "yes, the book reviews are important" but this is a weaken question, so we have to find the answer that says "no, the book reviews are not important."

And (B) states "Few readers of fantasy fiction read book reviews, and even fewer select books to purchase on the basis of those reviews." Which is the correct answer because it's saying exactly that "book reviews are not important because no one reads them anyway"

Conclusion: Fantasy genre has had a commercial resurgence in North America.
This is attributed to "the increased sales of fantasy books written for adults can be traced to the increased favorable attention given the genre by book reviewers." Here is our link to weaken. It's not stated but the the argument is assuming that people who buy fantasy books read book reviews, and it is the reading of these favorable book reviews that led to the increase of fantasy book sales. Only one answer choice directly attacks this assumption. Answer choice B says, "Few readers of fantasy fiction read book reviews, and even fewer select books to purchase on the basis of those reviews." This answer choice breaks the link between the the passage's conclusion and assumption. Answer choice A doesn't break/weaken the link between the argument's assumption and conclusion. In fact it is irrelevant. It has nothing to do with the purchases of or increase of sales of of fantasy books.
