Hi @bdeleon30, thanks for your post.The statement is "the only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it."
"The only" introduces a sufficient condition. So what is sufficient? "To get rid of temptation."
Being rid of temptation means being free of temptation means having no temptation. So, "not T."
If "not T," then what? Yield.
not T ==> Y.
Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation. It makes perfect sense to put the "not" in front.

this question is a bit confusing since there is a not, but what word indicated that there was going to be a not ?

I know the only introduce a sufficent condition but I didn't know why there was a not infront of temptationnot T --> Y
I thought it was
T-->Y
the Not y--> not T. if you can please indicate what word allowed it to be a not statement.

Hi @Lisan415,We have a not because the stimulus says “get rid of temptation”. So if T stands for temptation, and we are to get rid of it, we would diagram it as NOT T. Does that make sense? Please let me know if you have any more questions!

@mehran no. Getting rid of something can still be expressed in positive terms.
