Does not follow?

I watched the video. Why does answer choice B not follow from the passage? I see that it's incorrect because it negated without reversing, but I don't see how it completely doesn't follow. Am I missing something with that answer?

Hi @vkaszu, thanks for your post. This is a Must Be True question. The stimulus consists of a set of facts, as follows:

PR: (not) 10% increase ==> B

CP: (not) B ==> 10% increase

PR: 10% increase ==> 20% increase att

CP: (not) 20% increase att ==> (not) 10% increase

Answer choice (B) *may* be true, but it is not necessarily true. You are looking for the answer choice that MUST be true.

Think about it this way: there is no textual support for the statement in (B), which can be diagrammed as follows:

20% increase ==> (not) B

There is no sentence in the stimulus that establishes that a 20% increase in productivity is *sufficient* to guarantee that Quore will not go bankrupt. That statement is not textually supported by the passage. It is possibly true, but it does not fall within the range of things that *must* be true based on the text.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
