No one= necessary?

Does no one indicate necessary? That is what Naz said in question #16. But in this question in the second sentence it says: "No one who was influenced by Rosa advocated a totalitarian state." If no one indicates necessary then what followed it I put in the necessary condition but Naz did not. Why not?

I think I can answer my questions from Naz's response to a student on the message board for Question #16. The answer is no one indicates sufficient. "Remember that the most important thing with Sufficient & Necessary is not to blindly follow rules and to take everything in context. With that said, more often then not, the words you indicated introduce sufficient conditions. However it gets trickier with the "none" and "no one" due to the negation.

Let's look at some examples:
(1) No one that has A will have B.

So this means: If A, then not B.

A ==> not B
B ==> not A

(2) None of A is B.

So this means: If A, then not B.

A ==> not B
B ==> not A

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

@sharpen7 yes that would be correct.

These rules are set forth in detail in our Sufficient & Necessary lesson so I would recommend reviewing that lesson if you are still have issues with the S & N keyword indicators. You can use the "Skip to Topic" feature to easily jump around in the video lesson.
