Clarification between C&E

Hi, I put E as my answer choice as it is based on the idea that just because there are no written records does not mean it doesn't exist, like the Yeti. But the correct choice is C, which is understandable, my question is are they just trying to through you off with the example of the Yeti?

They use the Yeti as an analogy here, so it's not necessarily the point of the argument, just a metaphor. Because they mention it heavily in the prompt, it's definitely meant to be intriguing to select a prompt with it! But we have to remember to distill the down the prompt into just the main point, which in this case, is about trade, not the Yeti.

I need help with this one..

Since you're looking for the point of the argument, you're essentially distilling the argument down to the main point. The yeti discussion is meant to further the argument that the absence of proof is not the same thing as definitive proof, which is what C says. Does that answer your question?

Clarification to answer choices as B hasn't been mentioned in any of these threads.
I wanted to ask if the answer isn't B because of the fact that it says the complete opposite of what the author's main point is trying to convey? Is this correct?

Please advise,
Thank you!
