Answer choice C

Answer choice C has "the only" in its answer choice and so I thought that socialist or communist would be the sufficient condition and Rosa Luxemburg would be the necessary condition and would have the same structure as the principle in the first sentence and would therefore be the correct answer. Please explain to me why this is not the case.

@AndrewDavis thanks for your message. Did you have a chance to watch the video explanation for this question?

These two statements are NOT the same:

(1) "Every political philosopher of the early twentieth century who was either a socialist or a communist was influenced by Rosa Luxemburg."

(2) "Rose Luxemburg was the only person to influence every early twentieth century political philosopher who was either socialist or communist."

Notice that Karl Marx influencing every political philosopher of the early twentieth century who was either a socialist or a communist is possible under (1) but not under (2).

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions.

I eliminated C on the basis of it saying Rosa Luxemburg was "the only person to influence" since we don't know if these philosophers also had influencers besides Luxemburg is that an accurate way to eliminate the answer choice even though it is not the same as the video?
