@esther, the author is comparing scientific theories and popular theories in terms of results saying that "therapeutically, they [popular theories] tend to have greater success..." (C) tries to compare the two in scientific terms rather than practical terms, and it is likely that scientific theories would be more scientific than popular theories, even if they don't produce the same positive results.

Does that make sense?

I have read previous posts but the wording that throws everything off for me is the fact that it "opposes evidence" however, the first comment sounds much more like an opinion rather than a presented fact. How can you distinguish more easily between when something is a face or an opinion?
