P and M cannot both be selected. This means that both can't be in, but it doesn't mean that they can't both be out. Watch out for that kind of language!

But in the set up, the video reflects that on the out side it is as p/m meaning one or the other, with no potential of both, does it not?

Hi @ivana.bailey

Generally on a logic game, if you write A/B in a group, it indicates that at least one of A and B must be in that group. It is still possible, however, to put them both in that group. If you want to indicate that exactly one of them could be there, you need to add something extra. Perhaps you can write (not both) on the side. I’ve also seen people write A XOR B, XOR representing exclusive or (one or the other but not both). On the LSAT, unless they specifically indicate otherwise, “or” is always inclusive or (one or the other OR both).

So on this question, if either P or M is not selected, it is automatically the inclusive or.
