Laforte is responding to Dr. Schilling by raising his own point about access which Dr. Schilling failed to acknowledge.
In other words, Laforte is saying "These considerations about access are also relevant." He may even think that his points are more relevant than the Doctor's, but there is nothing in Laforte's argument to support the idea that Dr. Schilling's objections have no bearing on the question at hand.
