This doesn't make sense to me. If she can spend the max number of days there why cant it be 8? or even 10? Because the y and z really only need 2 days each if she only visits one city correct?

It can’t be 8 or 10 days because of a very sneaky rule right at the beginning: Hannah is spending 14 days IN A TOTAL OF SIX CITIES!
Therefore, we know that Hannah is spending as many days as possible in N in country X, but that she still has to visit 5 other cities, for two days minimum each, and that she has to visit at least one city in each country. That means a maximum of 4 days in N, because we still need 2 days each for 5 other cities (5*2 = 10 + 4 = 14)
Why is B therefore the correct answer? We are looking for an answer that must be true. We know that it must be true that Hannah “can†visit four cities in country Y, because the only other restriction was that she gets to each country. So, 2 days in a Z city, and then 8 days in 4 different Y cities.
