Hey there,Happy to help. Let's identify the codes first.
Harry could never have defeated Voldemort unless he was the chosen one.
CO=Chosen One
DV=Deafeated Voldemort
'Unless' is a word that tells us that whichever thing we put in the
sufficient condition, we negate it.
not CO (not chosen one) - >never DV (never defeated Voldemort)
The contrapositive of this statement is
DV (defeated Voldemort) - >CO (chosen one)
DV - >CO is exactly what we're looking for, and it's what (C) gives us,
so (C) is the correct answer.
Does this make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello Ravi, could you please elaborate on what you said "unless is a word that tells us that whichever thing we put in the sufficient condition, we negate it"What is considered a sufficient condition.
What do you mean by negating it? Thanks

Can you explain unless and sufficient conditions

Hello,For a full explanation, I recommend going back to the lesson "Necessary and Sufficient conditions" or checking out some Office Hours on the topic. But, I'll try to give you an overview. "Unless" is an indicator word for a conditional statement. Conditional statements are composed of a necessary and a sufficient condition (If "X" then "Y", "X" is the sufficient condition and "Y" is the necessary condition). We diagram conditional statements using an -> . The sufficient condition goes on the left of the arrow and the necessary condition goes on the right of the arrow. Unless statements are tricky and follow a specific pattern, which you will need to memorize. Unless introduces a necessary condition, but you have to negate the sufficient condition. ("X unless Y" translates to "not X -> Y" or its contrapositive "not Y -> X"). For an example, please look at the Chosen one/Voldemort from above.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
