When advertisers say, "Gram for gram, the refined sugars used in our pies is no more fattening than the sugars found in fruits and vegetables," what reaction do they want?

They don't want the consumer to think, "That's not true!" If we look closely at answer choice D, is says that it is morally wrong to make a trust statement in such a way that leads people into "believing that it (the statement) is false." Answer choice D doesn't work because the advertisers are not trying to lead people to believe that their own statements are false.

They want the consumer to draw our own conclusion, probably something along the lines of "These pies are no more fattening than fruits and vegetables." That's why answer choice E works
