Nobody says that, you are looking for the answer supported by both passages, passage A doesn't say a thing about patents, doesn't even say the word as i recall, let alone imply the patents are INVALID (not legally defensible).

Passage B says the word patents, but it seems to imply they are not only VALID but justified in their validity.

Hi @AlliC,

I agree overall with what @Deke is saying - the claim is simply too strong to be supported by either of the two passages anywhere. I wouldn't quite say that passage B implies that patents are justified in their validity, since the author seems a bit skeptical about them, but I will say that (B) is still a bit extreme for what the author of passage B is arguing.
