Answer B
Hi there!
I was able to narrow down my choices down to B and D, ultimately choosing D. I read the explanation as to why B was wrong, however I'm still a little confused. Is the logic for eliminating B have to do with the fact that the answer choice talks about working mothers vs. women generally, but the negative setbacks of part-time jobs is compared to full-time work? If someone could expand the explanation further I would greatly appreciate it! Many thanks in advance

(B) says, "Part-time work generally offers fewer opportunities for advancement to working mothers than to women generally."
The passage informs us that part-time work affords fewer opportunities for advancement to working mothers; however, this problem was caused by the general nature of part-time work. There wasn't any distinction mentioned between problems in part-time work that face mothers who work vs. problems that face women in general. Thus, we can get rid of (B). Your analysis of (B) is correct, and this is why it's the wrong answer choice.
