Only some?

I thought that Only introduces a necessary, but I got more confused with some beside it. which would you choose when diagramming?

@Lucas,

This argument can be diagrammed as:

RG some-> WE
RG -> S

SL -> VE
RG -> VP

It is correct that "only" commonly serves as an indicator of a necessary condition, but it is important to look at it in the context of the statement as a whole. In this case, if you eliminate only and say "some recent graduates consider work environment.," the meaning of the statement remains the same, thus "only" here is a filler word.

Does this make sense?

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Why does the answer explanation state that "only some" implies that "most are not"? The explanation states, "However, since it tells us about only some, we can draw an inference that most of the group don't have whatever characteristic is stated." However, I thought the only information that "only some" implies is that it is neither none nor all.
