(C)
Hi LSAT Max,
I read the previous thread and understand what the stimulus is saying.
Is answer choice (C) a valid argument because it follows the same logic as (A)?
Also, is (E) the best answer because "most beautiful" can be viewed similarly as "most famous"?
Thanks!

(A) says, "Of all the peaks in the coastal mountain range, Mount Williams is the tallest. Since the tallest peaks in the entire region are in the coastal mountain range, Mount Williams must be the region’s tallest peak."
(A) is actually a valid argument. The premise tells us that the tallest peaks are in the coastal mountain range. This means that Mount Williams is the tallest of the tallest peaks around, so it has to be the region's tallest peak. Thus, (A) is out.
(C) says, "Susan Coleman is the oldest of the three children in her family. Since the three Coleman children are each older than any of the other children who live in their building, Susan Coleman must be the oldest child now living in the building."
(C) is a valid argument. If the three Coleman children are older than all of the other children in the building, then Susan Coleman must be the oldest child in the building since she's the oldest Coleman child. Thus, (C) is out.
(A) and (C) more or less follow the same logic, so you're correct about that.
For (E), yes, it's the best answer because "most beautiful" can be viewed just as "most famous" is in the stimulus.
(E) says, "Of all the flowers grown in the university’s botanical garden, the Oakland roses are the most beautiful. Since the university’s botanical garden is the most beautiful garden in the region, the Oakland roses grown in the garden must be the most beautiful flowers grown in the entire region."
The argument is assuming that the most beautiful garden must also have the most beautiful flowers. This is not necessarily true, and this jump is the same type that the argument in the stimulus makes, so (E) is the correct answer choice.
