Why is B wrong?

How do you know how to pick between B and the correct answer?

@Meredith,

(B) says, "not necessarily true."

The question stem asks us, "which of the following must be false?"

If something must be false, then it cannot be true. Not necessarily
true means that it doesn't have to be true, but it still could be.
This is why (B) is incorrect.

(C) says, "cannot be true."

If something must be false, then there is no possible way it can be
true, which means it cannot be true. This is why (C) is the correct
answer choice.

Does this make sense?

@Ravi thanks that's very helpful. Quick concern though my screen shows those two answers flipped.

@Meredith, do you mean that your screen shows (B) as the correct answer choice, with (B) saying, "cannot be true," or do you mean something else? If you could clarify, that'd be great.
