The passage supports which one of the following statements about the natural pressure driving the flow of crude?

Lines 12-16

Hi LSAT Max, I chose answer choice C because I read these lines thinking that "sufficient only to bring the crude to the platform, located just above the wellhand" was evidence in support of my chosen answer. Any clarifications as to why (C) is incorrect and why the right answer is correct would be greatly appreciated!!

@Julie-V,

Happy to help. Let's look at (C) and (D).

(C) says, "It is able to carry the crude only as far as the wellhead."

The first paragraph mentions that the natural pressure driving the
flow of crude is actually only strong enough to bring the crude to the
platform, which is right above the wellhead. Thus, (C) is out.

(D) says, "It is able to carry the crude to the platform."

(D) is correct because the first paragraph mentions that the natural
pressure is only enough to carry the crude to the platform.

Does that make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!

It does make sense and shows me where my thought process got mixed up, thank you!
