Digram Confusion

How did you all know to diagram for honest journalism and subsidies without any key indicator words. but not to diagram the beginning of the sentence? Such as Press --> Profit Making Institution or Survive --> Make Money Also, why didn't you make subsidies and outside control a compound condition?

Q17 Digram Confusion

Hi @Meredith and @tisha212@yahoo.com,

Thanks for the question! Part of the reason we know to diagram for some things and not others is that hindsight is 20/20, and we make the videos and write the explanations after having done the problem. But also, it’s one of those things that you get better at the more you do the LSAT. Once you’ve read through the entire stimulus, and looked at what the question is asking you for, you should be able to pick up on what the important details in the passage are, and which ones aren’t as important. And so you’ll be able to skip diagramming things that aren’t really relevant to the question.

We could’ve made it a compound condition, but in this case, it wasn’t necessarily, since outside control doesn’t appear anywhere else in the stimulus to be used separately.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
