Answer Choice C

I understand why choice A is correct. However I do not understand how C is invalid? Roses are growing in the garden and they have no smell so they must be worth growing in the garden.

That's a fitting username! Let's look at the argument:

Roses always provide a stunning display of color:

R -> DC

but only those flowers that smell sweet are worth growing

~SS -> ~WG
WG -> SS

Some roses have no scent:

R some -> ~SS

We can conclude that:

R some -> DC & ~SS & ~WG

that is expressed in the answer choice (A).

We cannot infer (C):

WG some -> ~SS

because it would contradict our premise (2):

WG -> SS
