Diagramming

Hello! I watched a previous video that explained you should always try to diagram different sentences the same. So for this problem, how come A and B were not diagrammed using the same diagram? We somehow introduced STM and PS into the mix, which I am unsure of where we got. Thank you!

Hi @pajberman,

Thanks for the question! So I’m not familiar with the previous video you’re referencing, but I’m a little confused as to what you mean as to “diagram different sentences the same.” It’s not really possible to diagram different sentences the same from my understanding, since at the very least, you’ll have to change the acronyms you’re using, even if the logical structure stays the same. Or vice versa, the acronyms might stay the same, but something about the logic might be different.

So it makes sense that (A) and (B) are diagrammed with different diagrams here. STM here is used as an abbreviation for “survive the transformation of the market” (which is understood to be a case where it doesn’t go bankrupt). PS is used to indicate Quore’s production structure.

Since (A) and (B) are different sentences, they should be diagrammed differently.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
