Clarification on Answer Choice E

Lines 31-33 state that "Drilling Muds...are normally released only during the drilling phase of a well's existence." I eliminated answer choice E based on this, since E states that "During the drilling of an oil well, drilling mud is continuously discharged into the sea." Is E correct because the passage does not say "continuously"?

@naj2,

That's correct, the passage does not support the fact the mud is discharged continuously.

@irina I have the same question. E seems to be supported by the passages. Based on that it shouldn't be incorrect. Can you elaborate?

"Supported by the passage except"

Hi @Reanna,

Thanks for the question! (E) is wrong if we take a look at lines 43-46. These lines tell us that companies will recycle WBMs (a type of drilling mud, see line 38) and then dump an entire batch into the sea over a period of hours. In other words, the WBMs are dumped all at once, not "continuously," and so (E) is wrong. Hope this helps!
