Hello @mprezzy,

"The rate of psychological problems is higher among children of divorced parents than among other children."

The first sentence is not the conclusion, because it is presented as a fact. The researcher neither promotes nor rejects this statement, but rather seeks to explain it. You will see a lot of LR questions in which a scientist or researcher will try to explain a given phenomenon like the one above. The conclusion will usually be a potential cause that the scientists finds most likely.

In this case, the conclusion is the researcher's rejection of a proposed cause.
Conclusion : It would be a mistake to conclude that these problems are caused by the difficulty children have adjusting to divorce.
Why? Because there is another possible cause that is just as likely.

A conclusion will take the form of an interpretation of the data, rather than the data itself. The first sentence is a piece of data.
