This is a Must Be False or Cannot Be True question. It involves causal reasoning only as a side note. It is not a very airtight argument, however, the question specifically tells us that we are taking the information in the stimulus as true.
For Must Be True and Must Be False questions, the best approach is simply fact finding and crossing answers that do not fit the requirements. These do not require you to find the flaws in the causal reasoning.
