Approx Time to Spend on Incorrect Questions

It took me a while to understand why C was the correct answer choice for this question. Actually, I never figured it out on my own. I finally turned to the message boards to understand the logic behind the correct answer choice. Was it counterproductive to have spend almost 20 mins dissecting this question, rather than just flagging it with a star and coming back to it later, or just diving right into the message boards immediately? Sometimes, I like to take my time to understand logic on my own, but with all the material we have to cover, doesn't seem like my approach on this one will be feasible going forward. Would appreciate your feedback on most effective way to deal with this kind of situation, where I just want getting it.

@ChrisFnyc Happy to help!

Ultimately, the best decision for you will depend on your learning style and timeline. As a general rule, I would recommend trying to figure out your misinterpretation/the logic of the question yourself first, but if this takes more than 5-10 minutes, there's nothing wrong with looking to the message boards. They are there to help! Spending 20 minutes trying to dissect one LR question may become frustrating, and sometimes stepping away and coming back with a fresh mindset will allow you to see things you previously overlooked. Also, the more you practice, the more you will become familiar with the question types and your most common mistakes, and the shorter average time it should take you to dissect them.

Does that make sense? Please let us know if you have any other questions!

@ChrisFnyc Just to clarify, I'm talking about a few minutes spent understanding why you answered incorrectly after you've already attempted and answered all of the questions in the section and are now grading them/reviewing what you missed. When you're actually completing an LR section, you should aim to spend 1 minute and 24 seconds per question. However, when you are first learning how to approach the questions, it is natural to require more time than this, and focusing on understanding the logic is more important at that stage than timing.

Yup, got it @skylar. This make sense. I will incorporate your feedback into my routine. Many thanks!
