Hi @Jacquelyn-Christoph,

Thanks for the question! (D) is wrong simply because there’s no support for it in the passage. We are told that King would have found ideas closer to his own in other transcendentalist writings, like those by Emerson and Fuller. But what we aren’t told is that “Civil Disobedience” contained ideas that those authors would have “strongly disagreed.” There could have been more mild differences of opinion. Hope this helps! But what about this quote from the passage,

"Thoreau refused to pay taxes, but he did not hope by his action to force a change in national policy. While he encouraged others to adopt similar protests, he did not attempt to mount any mass protest action against unjust laws."

Doesn't this indicate (E) is incorrect?
