What is the answer to this question?

There is no video explanation FYI. I can see one of the explanations below say C is the answer however, I chose E. I diagrammed the general principle as: TG ==> O & FRI Not O or FRI ==> Not TG When I looked at answer choice E it seems to me that it is a valid S&N. Answer choice C reads to me like a reversal of the S&N. Please advise.

Correction the explanation says B is the answer but still, although I see B as a contrapositive, it seems to be a partial contrapositive since the first statement says it has originality. So B reads as:
Not FRI ==> Not TG

Hi Shirnel, thanks for the question.

It's always a treat when the passage is a single sentence. And you diagrammed it correctly.

Truly great -> Original and Far reaching influence

However, what I see is that your contrapositive isn't fully correct. You did correctly change the "and" to "or", which is usually the problem students have with contrapositives involving multiple terms. However it should read as follows.

NOT original or NOT far reaching influence -> NOT truly great

This means that if it is missing either originality or far reaching influence, then it is not truly great. And this is exactly what we have in answer choice B.

We are told that some of the most original art is found in isolated communities (this satisfies original) but do not have far reaching influence (this is NOT far reaching influence), meaning it is not truly great.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
