Understanding this question through diagramming

I watched the video for this question however it still didn't make sense to me how we arrived at D is the answer especially because we couldn't make a valid conclusion with the premises. It seems in the video Mehran compared the two quantifiers to deduce the answer, but D seems like a strong statement to a passage that we won't able to deduct a valid conclusion. It feels like we are guessing it was D rather than validating D must be true.

Hi @Shirnel,

Let’s take a closer look at this one together. There are a few tricky things going on here.

Nearly all mail that is CORRECTLY ADDRESSED arrives at its destination within two business days of being sent. In fact, CORRECTLY ADDRESSED mail takes longer than this only when it is damaged in transit. Overall, however, most MAIL (note this does not say correctly addressed mail) arrives three business days or more after being sent.

*NEARLY ALL* *CORRECTLY ADDRESSED* mail arrives within two business days of being sent (note that even if some mail is damaged in transit and takes longer to arrive, we know it’s not very much of the mail because the first sentence still says NEARLY ALL correctly addressed mail items arrive within two days, so you know only a small portion of correctly addressed mail is being damaged in transit and taking longer.)

Our conclusion says that overall, most MAIL (not necessary correctly addressed mail) arrives three business days or more after being sent.

We know that NEARLY ALL CORRECTLY ADDRESSED MAIL arrives within two days. So if most MAIL in general takes longer than two days, then we know most mail in general is not correctly addressed mail. So most mail is incorrectly addressed.

Hope this helps answer choice D make more sense. Feel free to follow up if you have anymore questions!
