Confused on diagram format

Why was PP=> w instead of W=> PP?

Thanks for the question! We’re told that wealth is the basis of political power; that means that in order to have political power, one needs to have wealth. Wealth is required for political power; in other words, only if one has wealth does one have political power. Recall that “only if” introduces the necessary condition , which comes after the arrow in the diagram. Thus, we diagram “wealth is the basis of political power” as

PP —> W

I am also confused. In Mehran's Video explanation, he gets to Not EDW --> Not Equal Dist of PP as the contrapositive of the PP=W statement. But isnt that backwards? Not W --> Not PP, or as his jump in logic as explained in the video says Not W == EDW and Not PP = EDPP; so that the contrapositive of the first statement is actually EDW --> EDPP. If all that is correct, then the contrapositive transitive structure of the stimulus conclusion fails. Please help correct my misunderstanding. Thank you.
