Daily Drills 11 - Section 11 - Question 4

P: X → CP: ?C: A–some–C

BK8 April 10, 2020

Possible Choices

Why would C-some-A not be correct. If “some” statements are reversible, then why couldn’t I draw the conclusion by saying C-some-A? I understand there are other factors at play but doesn’t that premise automatically validate the conclusion?

Hi BK8, thanks for the question.

If you were to add the premise: C-some-A, it would be:

C-some-A combined with X-> C

This would result in:

X -> C -some- A

Which is X-some-A

A useful tip from this drill that you can apply to future questions is this: if two answer choice say the exact same thing, then they are both wrong. Keep in mind only one answer choice can be correct. If c-some-a was correct, then so would a-some-c.

Without considering anything else, you can already focus on the other 3 answer choices.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions
