Why isn't E the Answer?

Hi LSATMax, I was able to figure out what the flaw in the stimulus was and I see how (D) has a similar flaw, but why isn't E the answer? My reasoning was that just because one of her works won 3 awards, it should not mean that her earlier works are worth merit, they could be terrible.

@Silvia,

Let's take a look at (E).

(E) says, "Margaret Durring’s short story “The Power Lunch” won three
separate awards for best short fiction of the year. Therefore, any of
Margaret Durring’s earlier stories certainly has enough literary merit
to be included in an anthology of the best recent short fiction."

The problem with (E) is that although it contains a flaw, it's a
different flaw from the one in the argument in the stimulus. Margaret
won three awards for "The Power Lunch," but it's entirely possible
that all of her previous works were terrible and not worthy of
publication. We do not know if she has always been good or if she has
improved, so (E) is a different kind of flawed reasoning from what's
in the stimulus. Thus, it's out.

Does this make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!
