Please explain answer-choice B

Hello, Doesn't B get lines 23-to-29 backward? B states: "These pumps are more efficient when the crude is less subject to sudden increases in the proportion of gas to liquid." I call your attention to the phrase "increases in the proportion of gas to liquid." Doesn't this phrase mean that gas in being converted to liquid? Doesn't B mean gas-to-liquid? It should have said liquid-to-gas, because the question is "less subject to." My initial gut was A is too strong. But B gets it backward! When we refer to the lines 23 to 30, clearly the increases are in the proportions of gas that are causing the reduction in pressure/head. 60% liquid is being converted to 70% gas which is having the effect of the "loss of pressure." Please please please respond. This important! "increases of proportions" of A-to-B should not mean both A-to-B and also mean B-to-A! What am I missing? Thank you

I was thinking the same thing as you but I think the sentence "These pumps are more efficient when the crude is less subject to sudden increases in the proportion of gas to liquid." was meant read as gas to liquid ratio was to increase meaning when gas is more in proportion than liquid?

If anyone is able to answer this please do. I had the same logic when answering this question. I initially chose B, but changed my answer to A bc B is stating lines 23-29 backwards.

Lines 20-9 tell us that a jump from mostly liquid to mostly gas is a bad thing.

B tells us that pumps are more efficient when less subject to sudden jumps in the ratio of gas to liquid. We know that an increase in the ratio of gas to liquid means more gas than there was before, which we know is a bad thing.

With this in mind, B tells us that current pumps are most efficient when less subject to a bad thing. This does make sense, and echos lines 20-29.
