June 2010 LSAT - Section 4 - Question 22
John September 21, 2020
I am not an LSATMax instructor but based on the strengthen lesson, whenever the stem contains "required," underlying assumption, or anything along those lines, that is a strengthen with necessary premise. They are asking you for the premise that is the foundation for the conclusion. If that premise was proven false, the conclusion is false. So, that is what is meant by a premise that is "required." If that premise was not true, the conclusion in the argument would not be true.
