I am very confused why C is the right answer and D is not. I understand why C is correct but not why D is incorrect, it seems to be the better answer. I also don’t understand why D is valid. D is the exact same structure and assumes the same thing, a quality of the object to assuming all the objects in said place have that quality.

How come the instructed added the but description to the Necessary in the passage but in question D the but statement was an additional necessary clause.
