Negating Unless

Hi, I am still confused on how to use the negation strategy with an "unless" statement. When you negate unless do you always convert to "not necessarily"? I think this is why I am confused about A being the correct answer. If you could explain unless and how to negate that would clarify. Thanks!

Hi Claudia, thanks for the question.

You can also think of the condition presented in answer choice A as a condition that when negated, shows the necessary condition to not actually be necessary anymore.

This way we see that in order for peer review, it isn't necessary to have the peer review my medical journal. Which shows the arbitrariness of having to wait for the medical journal to give its ok through peer review if it could be done some other way.

Peer review -> Done by medical journal

Negated: Peer review -> NOT done by medical journal

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like me to elaborate further.
