Hello,can you explain why the answer is not could be true in other words can you explain what is the difference between could be true and not necesserly true?

Could be true = not necessarily false
Could be false = not necessarily true

These phrases are a common point of confusion for many students because, if we are told that something could be true, there is a chance it could also be false. Similarly, if something could be false, it could also possibly be true.

However, these terms are very different when we think about them in comparison to the idea of "must be true" and "must be false" phrases. Their meanings no longer overlap at these more extreme endpoints.

If something "could be true" (AKA is "not necessarily false"), it is incompatible with something that "must be false." This is because something that must be false cannot be true.
If something "could be false" (AKA is "not necessarily true"), it is incompatible with something that "must be true." This is because something that must be true cannot be false.
