Faster way?

This seems like it would take up quite a bit of time if the answer choice wasn't B like it was here. I saw that we could eliminate A, but that still leaves four answer choices to test. Is there a quicker way we could have arrived at the correct answer without testing them?

Hey all,

On questions like this, you really want to consider which pieces are restricted before attempting to answer. In this case, I would go through the pieces and think about what it would take to get them on Monday.

The first thing that I noticed is that we have two of the three restaurants on Wednesday. This means that we could never have restaurants together on Monday.

The second thing that I noticed is that G almost always has to be on Monday. This is because it must come before J, but neither of them could be on Wednesday. The only way in which G is not on Monday would be if it is with J on Tuesday. Therefore, you know upfront that any answer choice with G and any letter other than J must be correct.

If you ask these questions before going to the answer choices, you’ll be able to skip to the answers that are likely to be true and usually solve them without having to try all five answer choices.
