Answer Choice A

I initially chose A thinking that, in some cases, some people had successful surgeries performed ten years ago. But I now understand that it says "few," which it clearly doesn't state in the passage. However, would answer choice A be correct if it said "some" instead of "few"?

All the stimulus states is that cataract surgery was not always effective; it didn't have a 100% success rate, which seems pretty reasonable but A is stating something different: this choice is saying that few surgeries were successful at all. Maybe cataract surgery has always been effective for the majority of people who get it, even if it didn't ALWAYS succeed, but that doesn't mean FEW of them were or that most of them weren't.
