Hi, just following up on my last question. I understand why E is correct but why is D wrong?

Hi @yckim2180,

We know that most leachate is sent directly to sewage treatment plants. We also know that not all sewage treatment plants are capable of handling leachate.

This does not necessarily mean that these two overlap i.e. that some leachate is sent to sewage treatment plants that are incapable of handling it.

It is entirely possible that most leachate is sent directly to sewage treatment plants, but only those which can handle it. After all, it doesn't make sense that landfills would send leachate to plants which are not capable of properly processing it; it would be easier to dispose of the leachate using another method.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
