Confused with rule 3

Seeing that the question stem mentions that "Steve's lesson is exactly three days after Grace's lesson"- Doesnt this mean that it does not matter whether Grace is on Monday and Steve is on Thursday or Grace is on Thursday and Steve is on Sunday? It does not say that Steve comes 3 days later, it says 3 days after. Why are we assuming that Grace cant come on day 6 and Steve come on day 3?

Hi, thanks for the question.

I actually got a bit confused because the game actually goes from slots 1-6, as opposed to Monday-Sunday. This isn't necessarily the biggest difference in terms of whether you show the slots as numbers or days, however, you would need to ensure that you are only keeping 6 days. Monday-Sunday would add an extra slot. Always best and safest to keep the game in the format they describe to us.

There is a finite number of slots in the schedule of lessons. If Grace were to be scheduled on the sixth (and final day), then there is no later to speak of. The end does not loop back to the beginning. Only in circular games will you find this type of logic, where the end connects back to the beginning.

Knowing where there is a definite end to the setup is very helpful and let's us make deductions based on how many variables must either be accommodated before or after a given variable.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
