Most Restrictive

Can you please describe how one can be better at evaluating at which answer choice is the most restrictive? And when is a good time to utilize this strategy? I keep missing this!

Hi @Skyler-Simon,

Thanks for the question! So generally speaking, the most restrictive answer choice is going to be the one that has a bunch of rules attached to it, or automatically places a lot of variables. So in this game, for example, in this game, if we can place K or O on a Monday or Tuesday, then we immediately know where the other variable is, since they have to be next to each other. Or in another game, if there’s a block of three variables, if something lets us place that block, then where we can place the other variables is extremely restricted. A good time to utilize this strategy is whenever the question asks you for things that “could be true” or “could be false,” since you might not be able to eliminate all the answer choices right off the bat, and you don’t want to just randomly guess from (A) to (E). You want to have a system where you look at answer choices first that are easier to work with or more likely to be the correct answer choices, which can often be the more restrictive ones.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
