Why is A incorrect?

I understand why B is correct, but why would A be incorrect? If the majority of people do not have compulsions, doesn't that mean the majority of people do not have desires? The fact that the majority of people do have desires seems like a basic assumption to make, so I thought A could not be true because of that.

Happy to help!

Answer choice (A) is ultimately incorrect because we cannot make the assumption that most people have desires. The information we are given says nothing about what percentage of people experience desires or compulsions, so it would be out of scope for us to use our outside knowledge to make a conclusion on the topic.

Does that make sense? Please let us know if you have any other questions!
