Methodology of breaking down answers.

I understand why the answer is E after the question is broken down in the video. But how do I go about breaking down these questions and answers into such basic sets without getting confused? For example in the answer Encroachment on Adequate leisure time was seen as NO ALT. What can I do to keep my mind from getting tricked by complicated sentences so that I can more accurately create Premises and conclusions?

@andreakormusis, great question. First, I recommend reading the stimulus slowly enough so that you're able to absorb all that you're reading. People often gloss over words while reading the stimulus, and this leads to having a very shallow understanding of the text.

Next, for long premises, I recommend focusing on the big picture and the key words. For the example you gave, "encroachment on adequate leisure time," "No ALT" was used because an encroachment of adequate leisure time basically means the same thing as not having adequate leisure time. We can simplify "adequate leisure time" by using the first letter of each word in the phrase, "ALT." This is how we get to "No ALT," which is a much more digestible statement that is easier to diagram.

Does this make sense? Let us know if you have any other questions!
