Finding the answer just by reading the answer choice....

Should we be getting to the point where we're making the deductions for the passage, but picking the answer out just by reading the answer choice? For example, on this question, I followed the instructor's rules, but was able to pick the answer just by reading the answer choice and comparing it to the deductions I have made. Should I trust myself in certain situations or follow the instructor's methods?

Hi @Bcmiller81,

It's dependent on where you are in your learning, but at the end of the day, it's really a personal choice.

When you are first learning concepts and beginning to practise them, I would recommend following the instructor's methods. However, as you get further into your practice and develop a full understanding of the underlying rules and methods, you may find shortcuts that work for you.

The course is intended to teach you the underlying skills required to master the LSAT. You can definitely do well by following the instructor's methods exactly, but if you find some different shortcuts or ways of conceptualizing things that really work for you, I would say use them! It's all about figuring out how to take the test in the way that works best for you and gets you the highest score possible.

Keep up the good work and please let us know if you have any further questions.
