Why is C wrong?
I got B, surprisingly I've had the easiest time with this section. But why is C wrong? Is it because it doesn't say why there are only females? Like for instance, a species of animal that is endangered because all of the males were hunted to extinction? Thats what i thought of when I read C and I'm curious if thats right.

Thanks for the question! So let’s recap what the relevant part of the stimulus is saying. We’re told that for all species of higher animals, reproduction requires production of eggs but not necessarily sperm. So some species have members that are all female.
Now we’re being asked for something that COULDN’T be true, since this is a could be true except question. And (C) tells us that it could be true that there’s a significant number of female-only species of higher animals. Well, what’s significant mean? Depends on the context. Maybe just having one of these female-only species is a significant number. We don’t know, but we definitely can’t rule out the possibility. And since the possibility’s still there, it’s possible that “some” species is enough to be “significant,” and so (C) could be true and is the wrong answer.

Ahhh I see, I read the first sentence a bit wonky. I was going by the understanding that it was referring to Higher Species to say that the groups with only females were of a lower species and thats why it was possible. Need to read more carefully, thanks!
