Thanks for the question! So think on a big picture about what’s going on between these two passages. Passage A is basically saying that purple loosestrife is bad, it’s a big deal, and we should control it. But it doesn’t talk about people who might think that it’s not important to control it, or that purple loosestrife is just being blown out of proportion.

Passage B, on the other hand, takes passage A’s argument about controlling purple loosestrife and it’s this huge problem, and says nah, it’s not that big of a deal. So passage B clearly displays an awareness of the arguments in passage A (for controlling purple loosestrife, and the damaging effects of it), since it responds to them by saying they’re overblown. And those are the arguments touched on in passage A of which passage B displays an awareness.
