Hi @Wolff5,

Thanks for the question! Well, we’re being asked here for what the author is primarily concerned with in the third paragraph of the passage. So let’s go to that paragraph and see what the author’s talking about, ideally contextualizing it within the whole passage. The first paragraph talks about how all knowledge might be proved false at some point, and the second paragraph talks about how that doesn’t mean that everything’s subjective and that we can agree on certain facts.

So then what does the third paragraph do after that? Well, it says that despite that, science certainly doesn’t know everything. Science is carried about by people and in social processes, and new scientific ideas fix old ones, and we can’t just luckily find the truth.

So what’s this third paragraph doing here? Well, it’s basically qualifying the second paragraph, right? The second paragraph says that science can give us answers and certain facts. And the third paragraph says, well, don’t take that too far though. There’s some limitations here that we should notice. So (C) is the correct answer here, the third paragraph qualifies a previously expressed point of view, which is expressed in the second paragraph.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.
