Hi! Could someone please diagram this question and explain, I am super confused with the layout and how to go about it. thanks

Thanks for the question! So we have cycles, which only start anew when each of the five clans has gone three times. Well, then there’s a total of 5*3 = 15 slots. And 3 clans go a year. So that means we’re going to have 15/3 = 5 years, with 3 clans per year. So you might have something like

Year 1: _ _ _
Year 2: _ __
Year 3: _ _ _
Year 4: _ __
Year 5: _ _ _

OK, now for this question: let’s say the first year is N, O, and P. Well, we know that based on the first rule, each clan has to participate at least once in any two consecutive years. We’ve left out S and T in year 1, which means they both have to go in year 2. So the correct answer choice has to have both S and T, and only (E) has both, so (E) is the correct answer here.
