What gave away the base?

What gave away that we are supposed to use the technicians for the base. I initially set up this question as a group game using RTV as the base and placing the technicians and found it more difficult.

Thanks for your question.

You could set up this question either way. I think it is easier to use the technicians as the base for two reasons:

1) There are more of them than there are machines to be repaired so it makes things a bit easier to visualize.

2) The conditions start with the technicians as opposed to the machines i.e. Y repairs both T and V vs. T and V are both repaired by Y.

The second is a slight difference, but it seems to suggest that the machines are assigned to the technicians as opposed to the other way around.
