We also know that right now, there’s not enough grassland to support a bigger population.

Now we need something that follows from the stimulus; this is a must be true question. So let’s take a look at (D), which tells us that in the short term, the wild cheetah population will be incapable of surviving a natural disaster in the African grasslands. Well, that’s true based on what we’re told, right? The wild cheetah population back then wasn’t enough to survive a natural disaster, and the population is about the same size now, maybe even smaller. And the grasslands can’t take more. Well, that directly leads to (D), which makes it the correct answer.
